Weekday Workshop Assistant Manager

Location: LONDON

Type: CONTRACT: 6 MONTHS

We are looking for a workshop assistant manager, with a passion for making, to support the day to day operations of the workshop alongside the Workshop Managers. This is a 6 month full time role which focuses on helping members to work safely in a clean and accessible environment with guided support when needed. 

The role will include opportunities for further training on new machinery, best practices and running a workshop. We also offer unlimited access to the tools and machinery for personal projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Supporting in setting up, operating & maintaining machinery and facilities across the workshop 

  • Supporting provision of inductions and safety information for new members

  • Helping out on client commissions and projects 

  • Keeping the workshop safe, tidy and complete for the use of members

  • Providing status and production reports of the machines

  • Conducting inventory checks, managing workshop stock

  • Supporting members with advice and best practice during workshop core hours

  • Managing reclaimed materials Hub, collecting, processing and storing materials and taking payments

Person Requirements: 

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication

  • Basic to Intermediate experience working with at least one offering of our workshop (woodworking, metal work, digital fabrication or finishing)

  • Experienced and comfortable working safely with power tools and machinery

  • Passionate about making, creating and helping others

We Offer:

  • 6 Month contract

  • Full time, 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)

  • £14,000 to £16,000  for a 6-month contract based on experience
