Ages: 10-16
Venue: POW Workshops, 41-43 Standard Road, LONDON NW10 6HF
Get ready to code, create, and compete! In this exciting one-day workshop with the multi-talented Sean Rodrigo, kids will learn how to build and customise their very own robot car using the BBC micro:bit – a beginner-friendly mini-computer that introduces coding in a hands-on way.
Throughout the day, students will:
Code their car’s movement using simple block-based programming.
Design and build custom attachments using 3D printing, laser cutting, and recyclable cardboard.
Test and tweak their robot’s design for speed, strength, and creativity.
Battle it out in a friendly final showdown of mini-games and challenges!
From jousting arms to creative flags and armour, students will learn real-world tech and digital fabrication skills while having a blast making their robot cars stand out on the track.
No prior coding or making experience needed — just bring your imagination and get ready to invent!
