POW Access Scheme (Concessions & Free Places)

At POW, we want our workshops, courses, and facilities to be accessible to as many people as possible.

For those who would like to take part in our courses or access the workshop but are not currently in a position to afford standard prices, we’ve set up the POW Access Scheme.

The scheme offers:

  • Concessionary access to POW workshops and sessions

  • Free course places when courses are not fully booked

Who Can Apply?

You can apply to the POW Access Scheme if:

  • You have an email address, and

  • You are in receipt of one or more of the benefits listed below

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Free Course Places – How It Works

If a free place becomes available on a course one week before the start date, members of the POW Access Scheme will be emailed with:

  • Course name

  • Dates and times

  • How to claim the place

Free places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with the following exception:

If you have attended a free POW course place within the last six months, priority may be given to other applicants.

This helps ensure fair access across the community.

Evidence Required

To join the POW Access Scheme, you will need to provide proof of eligibility showing you are in receipt of one of the following:

  • Pension Credit (Pension or Savings Credit)

  • Aged 65+ with a household income under £16,000

  • Working Tax Credit

  • Income Support

  • Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

  • Incapacity Benefit

  • Universal Credit

  • Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support

  • Carer’s Allowance

  • Child Tax Credit with a household income under £16,000

Documentation can be uploaded securely during the application process.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the POW Access Scheme application form

  2. Upload a scan or photo of your eligibility evidence

  3. Our team reviews your application

  4. If approved, you’ll be added to the POW Access Scheme and notified by email

Blue Light Card Holders

We are also an approved Blue Light Card partner.

If you are a Blue Light Card holder, you may be eligible for concessionary access without needing to provide benefits evidence. Verification may be requested.
