Trotec Speedy 400 Laser Cutter / Engraver

The Trotec Speedy 400 is a high-performance laser engraving and cutting machine manufactured by Trotec Laser GmbH, an Austrian company specializing in laser technology. As the flagship model in Trotec's Speedy series, the Speedy 400 is designed for professional applications ranging from single-piece projects to large-scale industrial production. With an extensive working area of 1016 x 610 mm (40 x 24 inches), it stands as one of the largest models in the Speedy product line.

The Speedy 400 is known for its exceptional engraving speed of 4.3 m/s and acceleration of 50 m/s², making it what Trotec claims to be the fastest laser engraver on the market—up to eight times faster than comparable machines from competitors. This speed capability is particularly beneficial for businesses where production throughput is critical to profitability.

Available in two primary configurations, the Speedy 400 can be equipped with either a CO₂ laser (with power options of 80W or 120W) for processing materials such as wood, glass, paper, plastics, and textiles, or as the Speedy 400 flexx, which integrates both CO₂ and fiber laser sources (30W) in a single machine. The flexx variant allows users to seamlessly switch between laser types depending on the material being processed, enabling the engraving and marking of metals and specialized plastics in addition to traditional laser materials.

The machine incorporates several proprietary technologies that enhance its performance and durability. These include CeramiCore® laser source technology, which utilizes a resonator made entirely of ceramic material to ensure reliability and consistent engraving quality; InPack Technology™, which protects sensitive components like lenses, mirrors, and motors from dust; and OptiMotion™ motion control, which optimizes cutting speed along curves for precise contour accuracy.

The Speedy 400 is supported by Trotec's Ruby® laser software, a web-based platform that integrates graphic design capabilities with laser job management. This software allows users to prepare jobs from any device connected to their network, streamlining workflow efficiency by enabling job preparation while the machine is actively processing other tasks.

Primarily targeted at businesses in personalization, education, and manufacturing sectors, the Speedy 400 has established itself as a versatile tool for applications including signage production, promotional items creation, trophy and award making, industrial marking, and rapid prototyping.
