This month: New Residents & Studios | Expanded Classes | MP Visit | Job Opportunities

🪚 NEW RESIDENTS & STUDIOS

After months of renovations is a genuine joy to see (and hear!) the workshop busy and finally fulfilling its purpose as a resource for makers. So far, we have a mixture of bench and studio rentals, plus a number of coaching sessions. Watching their projects develop reminds us daily why we began this journey.

To accommodate everyone who wants their own dedicated corner of POW, we’ve been building resident studios as fast as we can. In total, there will be 10 studios of various sizes, but we only have four left so if you would like to take one, book in for a free tour soon and we can discuss all of the available options.

In the meantime, follow us on Instagram to keep up with our progress.

📚 CLASSES ARE BACK!

Having paused all classes during the build, we're thrilled to announce that our expanded offerings are now live:

Woodworking & Joinery

New Additions

We're especially delighted to welcome Sean Rodrigo from Fixatorium to our teaching team. He is running our laser cutting and 3D printing classes and has already received several glowing reviews.

With classes running throughout the summer, there's never been a better time to try something new!

🎤 REPRESENTING MAKERS IN EALING

On July 23rd, we had the honour of speaking at Ealing's Creative Sector Forum about the vital role makerspaces play in supporting London's creative economy. The conversation was so engaging that Rupa Huq MP followed up with a visit to see POW in action.

We discussed the opportunities and challenges for businesses in West London, plus our own perspective on how POW can be an incubator for the next generation of makers, designers, and small manufacturers. When policy makers understand what we're building here, real change becomes possible.
