FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The majority of our classes are designed for complete beginners — no prior experience needed. Where a class does require some previous knowledge, it'll say so on the listing. If you're not sure, just get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.

  • It depends what you're interested in. For woodworking, our Joinery Evening Taster (2.5 hours, £75) is the quickest way to try it out, or you can go straight into a weekend course — no taster required. For DIY and home skills, our plumbing and power tools classes are all standalone and beginner-friendly. For digital making, try a laser cutting or 3D printing session. If you're not sure, drop us a message and we'll help you find the right fit.

  • That's the idea. Our woodworking pathway takes you from your first joint through to building furniture, with more courses coming in 2026. Many of our other classes are standalone, but once you're confident with the tools, our workspace memberships give you access to the full workshop to work on your own projects.

Choosing a class

  • Everything you need is provided — just come in comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes or trainers. No open-toed footwear is allowed for safety reasons.

  • We keep our public classes between 1–8 participants to ensure plenty of attention from our tutors. Private classes can be booked for up to 30 participants.

  • Yes — everything you make is yours to keep.

  • We don't, but there are some food options nearby and we're happy to give recommendations.

    Also we have a kitchen with a fridge, toaster and microwave that can be used

On the day

  • Absolutely. Our classes make great experience gifts for makers, DIY enthusiasts, or anyone curious about woodworking. Gift cards are available and valid for 2 years.

  • Yes! We offer private classes for groups of 6–16 people — perfect for corporate away days, team building, birthday parties, hen-dos, and more.

Gifts & group bookings

  • POW Workshops, EX2 Building, 41–43 Standard Road, London NW10 6HF. Our nearest stations are North Acton (13 min), Harlesden (17 min), Park Royal (20 min), and Willesden Junction (25 min).

  • Yes — there's a small car park accessible from Dragor Road at £2.50/day, payable via an app. There's also an Asda car park about a 6-minute walk away with 2 hours of free parking, though you may need to pay or move your car for longer classes. If those fill up, there are Pay By Phone spaces in the area, and residential bays that aren't monitored on weekends. Allow a few extra minutes in case you need to park a couple of streets away.

  • Of course. Book a tour to see the workshop and meet the team before committing to a class.

Getting here

  • Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:30pm. On weekends we're open for classes only.

  • Unfortunately the classroom is on the first floor and not currently wheelchair accessible. We're hoping to install a lift as soon as possible.

    • 7+ days before your class: full refund or free reschedule.

    • 2–6 days before: no refund, but you can reschedule to another date subject to availability.

    • Less than 48 hours or no-show: no refund or reschedule.

    Can't make it at all? You're welcome to transfer your booking to someone else at any point — just let us know their name.
